LAURA GEORGINE FORESE

Laura Georgine Forese was born on July 27, 1931 in Magna, Utah and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2023 at the age of 91, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Laura was the first child of Michael and Johanna (Lyngberg) Palmasano. Laura left behind a husband, Patrick of 59 years, and 5 children, Joann Patterson, Sam Melchionne Jr., Lynn Forese, Leslie (Jeff) Wagonseller and Laralee (Scott) Ciernia. Laura had 10 grandchildren, Laura Patterson, Michael (Ben)patterson-pack, Lindsay (Ernesto) Altamirano, Trevor (Briana) Wagonseller, Taylor (Logan) Beougher, Samantha Johnson, Patrick (Bernadette) Melchionne, Kate Ciernia, Clare Ciernia, Hailey Ciernia. Laura also had 8 great grandchildren. Laura had half siblings on her father's side of the family she loved getting to know: Linda, Barbara, Sally, Margie, Myrtle, Evelyn, Antonio and Joseph.

She grew up in Salt Lake City and then, Laura spent time in Avalon, California (Santa Catalina Island) with her Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Spud, cousin Bishop Sylvester D. Ryan and Snowball. She then moved to Las Vegas, NV in 9th grade and graduated from Las Vegas High School as part of the class of 1949. During high school Laura sang in the choir, and was a cheerleader. After high school Laura worked for the Southern Nevada Telephone Company as an Operator. Laura spent many years as a bookkeeper and finished her career as an executive assistant at the original MGM Grand Hotel. As a retiree, Laura enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dancing with her Sun City Dance and Drill Teams. She was fond of animals, especially dogs and enjoyed the beauty of our Southern Nevada desert and mountains. In her 80's she was even known to hike Lone Mountain with her son. The family will celebrate Laura's life at a Catholic Mass, presided by Laura's cousin, Bishop Sylvester D. Ryan, on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
