-

■ Lake Mead — The Overton Arm is providing good action for crappie and black bass. Smallmouth and largemouth bass, which are getting ready to spawn, are hitting Rat-l-traps and jigs in the Boulder Basin shallows. Striped bass are chasing anchovies and swimbaits in Government Wash.

Black bass are hanging out near coves and drop-offs at Cottonwood Basin and points farther south as they prepare to spawn. They are hesitant to hit plastics but might take live shad.

■ Laughlin — Striped bass action, with some fish as large as 5 pounds, is picking up along the river and south past Big Bend. They have been hitting spinners and wacky worms. Planted trout have been caught with night crawlers, cut anchoives and spinners below Davis Dam.

■ Las Vegas urban ponds — Seasonal trout plants are expected to end this week. Bluegill can be found along drop-offs. The catfish and bass bites have been sluggish. Night crawlers and jigs are popular go-to baits as the waters warm.

■ Kirch Wildlife Management Area — Unsettled weather has limited fishing activity, though some anglers have had success and Adams-mcgill and Hay Meadow reservoirs with Powerbait and worms. Rainbow trout that have been living under the ice will chase Rooster Tails, Panther Martins, Super Dupers and Mepp’s spinners.
