THE Presley name is again gracing a marquee in Las Vegas. Priscilla Presley is bringing her autobiographical show back to South Point Showroom from Nov. 3-5.

Presley most recently headlined the room in April 2022, in an interview format alongside veteran Southern California broadcast journalist Sandie Newton. The presentation is Presley’s first ticketed appearance in Las Vegas since the death of Lisa Marie Presley in January.

Presley has made news in

Las Vegas over the weekend, as it was announced a replica of her and Elvis’ wedding cake will be displayed at the Vegas “wedding capital of the world” 70th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 3, at Caesars Palace. The two were wed on May 1, 1967, at the Aladdin.

Elvis’ name is also part of conversations at his former haunt at the Westgate, where Barry Manilow is scheduled to surpass The King’s record for total performances at the venue with No. 637 next month.

Priscilla Presley’s shows at South Point in April proved revealing and captivating. She noted that her marriage to

Elvis unraveled soon after he opened at the International/ Las Vegas Hilton.

“When he was at the International and Hilton hotel, one of the guys said, ‘Get all the pretty girls and put them in front,’ so there would be blondes redheads, beautiful, beautiful girls in the front, maybe about 30,” Presley said from the stage. “So, you know, I noticed that and I thought, ‘OK, I guess that’s the normal thing.’ But then when I started seeing them in the dressing room, and the guys bringing them in, and, you know, introducing them to Elvis …”

The two divorced in October 1973 but remained friends through their parenting of Lisa Marie.

“People ask if we had fun, and we did. We were carefree,” Presley said. “Even after the divorce, we were great co-parents to Lisa Marie and remained very close. We were great friends.”

Lim to appear again on ‘AGT’

Shin Lim is returning “America’s Got Talent” next week.

This season’s competitors can be assured he’s not coming back to beat them again.

Instead, the first and only two-time “AGT” champion is a guest star on Aug. 30, during the show’s live telecasts on NBC. The “AGT” live shows begin Tuesday night, with a total of 55 acts to be featured. Lim is to be among the featured ex-champs.

The LIM-“AGT” combination has benefited the performer and the series. Lim is one of “AGT’S” great Las Vegas success stories, winning Season 13 in 2018 and also capturing the “Masters” edition in 2019. In a city teeming with magic acts, his show packs the Mirage.

Apart from his “AGT” reappearance,

we’re watching how Lim handles his stage show moving into 2024. His stage partner, the forensic mentalist Colin Cloud, has headlined his own production at Edinburgh Festival Fringe (titled “After Dark,” same as Brian Newman’s returning latenight show at Nomad Library, FWIW).

Last month, a note in my column suggesting Cloud could front his own show threw a hair-raising charge into the Lim production.

This was just as Cloud, an “AGT” semifinalist in 2017, was prepping for his solo run in Scotland. The two have performed together in “Limitless,” with Lim as the headliner, since 2019.

Lim is also currently shown solo in the show’s online promotional clip, with no mention of Cloud.

We expect Lim and Cloud to continue at Mirage through the end of this year. But nothing has been announced beyond ’23.

Performing in rainy Edinburgh, Cloud posted Sunday morning, “This show was a risk. I didn’t know what the response was going to be. But after only three shows, I’m already convinced it was exactly what I was meant to be sharing at this exact moment in time.” Draw your own conclusions for this mentalist’s vision.

No dance team here

On the topic of “AGT” and its champions …

Gone unnoticed (almost) is the absence of “AGT” Season 17 champions Mayyas in the “America’s Got Talent Live!” at Luxor. This was part of the firstpride award for the 36-member, all-female, Lebanese dance troupe.

But after being announced last September for the Vegas production, plans to make Mayyas a thing have reportedly halted. The precision-dance ensemble made news by backing Beyoncé in Dubai in January.

There’s been no official reason, yet, as to the champions’ “AGT Live” status. Production officials have not yet returned requests for comment. But the Mayyas require a lot of resources, planning, coordination and (we understand) patience. If you think staging a 36-member international troupe of teenage dancers in a Strip production is easy, try it.

Magic alert

Matt Donnelly, aka The Mind Noodler, fills in for Mac King at 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Thunderland Showroom at Excaliber. Donnelly is a top improv comic and podcast vet who picked up magic relatively recently. He’s great and has found a second or third career.

Cool Hang Alert

David Perrico’s Pop 40,a piece of the Raiders House Band, plays 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at The Shag Room at Virgin Hotel Las Vegas. Lily Arce sings. No cover. Get with it.
