KEITH WALTER JOHNSON
It is with profound sadness that the family of Keith "John the fruitman" Johnson of NLV announces his passing. Keith passed so peacefully on Friday August 18, 2023 in Boulder city NV, surrounded by family on what was also his 93rd birthday. He was born in Watertown NY. Keith enlisted in both the US Navy and the US Army (Korean War) where he served both honorably. Keith came to
NLV in 1958 where he purchased a home in NLV. He remained in the same home his entire life. When he came to NV, he began a milk route and built on that work of serving others by establishing a home delivery business to all of NLV. He delivered produce to countless families to include fruits, vegetables, meats, juices etc. He was well known as "Johnny the Fruitman" and much appreciated on the "westside" of LV as he fed those customers for years. Not ever was anyone to go hungry. He was a devoted servant of God and a devout Catholic attending church often 4 times a week. It made his heart happy to be a charitable man and gave of his blessings to several charities over the years. He was an avid pool player, winning multiple 9 ball tourneys. He loved taking his motorhome camping, fishing and riding his harley. All of these, he enjoyed through the age of 92. He was a remarkable man. Keith made a lasting impact on so many lives, his many children will tell you. He will be so missed and revered as a Dad "Pops" Grandpa, Papa, Brother, Uncle and friend. He is survived by his children Mike Johnson (Gaye) Joann Evans, Cathy, Lynne Ortiz, Lee Stang, Steven Johnson (Gina) Terry Johnson (Cristie) Margie Lemos, David Johnson Linda Marcus (Mike) Jerry Johnson, (Bonnie) Leila Johnson. Also, brother Dick and sister Roxie and grandchildren and greats etc. whom he adored. Keith was preceeded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and three children, Cathy R., Edward & Gloria. All services will be held at Saint Christopher's Church NLV on September 10, 2023 @ 5pm with reception immediately following.
