Jordan not much of an investigator
Recently, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-ohio, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, circulated a letter to members of his committee stating:
“Over the first seven months of this Congress, we have worked aggressively to expose misconduct in the executive branch. …Our investigations have yielded real results. … Thank you for your persistence in uncovering the truth and holding bad actors accountable.”
This comment brought to mind Sgt. Schultz from the TV series “Hogan’s Heroes,” who was noted for saying, “I see nothing … I know nothing.”
Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University from 1987 to 1995. During this time, Dr. Richard Strauss was the team’s physician.
According to an independent report by the law firm Perkins Cole, Strauss sexually abused at least 177 male student-patients.
The report found that at least 22 assistant coaches were aware of Strauss’ conduct.
Many wrestlers said Jordan was aware of the situation, and six say that they had repeated conversations with Jordan about Strauss’ misconduct. A referee says he told Jordan of Strauss performing a sexual act in a shower after a wrestling match and that Jordan merely shrugged and said, “Yeah, that’s Strauss.”
Jordan’s congressional office in 2018 denied that he ever saw or heard about any abuse.
So the lead investigator of the House Judiciary saw nothing and knew nothing about continuous deviant conduct being carried on in front of his own eyes for over eight years.
If that’s true, then so much the worse for him.
