Michigan State suspends coach amid investigation

-

Michigan State suspended coach Mel Tucker after allegations became public that he sexually harassed an activist and rape survivor during a phone call last year. The suspension is pending the results of an outside investigation into the matter. Secondary coach Harlon Barnett will serve as the Spartans’ interim coach while Tucker awaits his fate. Tucker, 51, in the third season of a 10-year, $95 million contract, is 20-14 in three-plus seasons. If he is fired for cause, the university wouldn’t have to pay him what’s left on his deal.
