Browns WR Cooper back from injury three weeks after torching Houston
Cleveland wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) said he will play Saturday at Houston after being sidelined for the regular season’s final two games.
The 29-year-old five-time Pro Bowl pick had 11 catches for a franchise-record 265 yards with two touchdowns in the Browns’ 36-22 win at Houston in Week 16. A former Raider, Cooper had 72 catches for a career-best 1,250 yards with five TDS this season.
■ Bills: Dylan Brody Isaacs, a 30-year-old Buffalo fan, was fatally shot Sunday in an altercation near Hard Rock Stadium after the Bills beat Miami, South Florida police said. Detectives have identified and interviewed a suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.
■ Giants: Defensive coordinator
Wink Martindale resigned after coach Brian Daboll fired two of the 60-yearold’s most trusted aides, outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins and defensive assistant Kevin Wilkins, brothers with whom Martindale worked in Baltimore.
■ Bears: Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy was fired after two seasons, along with quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko, wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert, running backs coach Omar Young and assistant tight ends coach Tim Zetts.
■ Vikings: General manager Kwesi Adofo-mensah said he wants quarterback Kirk Cousins to return next season. Minnesota cannot use the franchise tag on the 35-year-old to keep him from entering free agency.
■ Media: Regular-season games averaged 17.9 million viewers, tied for the second highest since averages first were tracked in 1995. The highest average on record is 18.1 million in 2015.
■ Texans: Owner Janice Mcnair, 87, is fighting efforts by son Robert Cary Mcnair Jr. to have her declared incapacitated and have a guardian appointed for her, court records show.
