Oilers rally by Kraken, capture franchise-best 12th win in row

Warren Foegele scored twice, and Leon Draisaitl had a goal and three assists as host Edmonton rallied past Seattle 4-2 on Thursday to extend its win streak to a franchise-record 12 games.

Stuart Skinner stopped 25 shots for the Oilers, who overcame a 2-0 deficit and tied a franchise record with its 10th straight game allowing two or fewer goals.

Eeli Tolvanen and Jared Mccann scored for the Kraken, who lost their third in a row after a ninegame win streak. Joey Daccord had 32 saves for Seattle.

Zach Hyman iced the outcome with 2:38 left by tapping in a backhand pass from Connor Mcdavid on a power play prompted by a five-minute penalty against Yanni Gourde for charging.

■ Bruins 5, Avalanche 2: At Boston, David Pastrnak scored 44 seconds into the first period and added two goals in the final 2:36 of the third as Boston won its third straight and improved to 8-1-3 in its past 12 games. Colorado had won four of its previous five.

■ Capitals 5, Blues 2: At Washington, T.J.

Oshie notched his sixth hat trick and first since Oct. 25, 2021, notching two power-play goals and an empty-netter against his first NHL team. Ex-golden Knight Max Pacioretty assisted on Oshie’s first two goals.

■ Sabres 3, Blackhawks 0: At Buffalo, N.Y., Ukko-pekka Luukkonen stopped 20 shots in his third shutout and second in as many starts, and defenseman Ryan Johnson had the primary assist on goals by Zemgus Girgensons and J.J. Peterka.

■ Flyers 5, Stars 1: At Philadelph­ia, Owen Tippett scored twice to back Sam Ersson, who had 15 saves in Philadelph­ia’s fifth straight win. Dallas, which was outshot 43-16, had won four of its previous five and seven in a row against the Flyers.

■ Maple Leafs 4, Flames 3: At Calgary, Alberta, Auston Matthews notched his fourth hat trick this season and had an assist as Toronto halted its four-game skid and Calgary’s four-game win streak. Neither team scored in the third period.

■ Canucks 2, Coyotes 1: At Vancouver, British Columbia, ex-golden Knight Teddy Blueger assisted on Dakota Joshua’s go-ahead goal with 58 seconds left in the second period for Vancouver, which is 6-0-1 in its past seven games.

■ Senators 6, Canadiens 2: At Ottawa, Ontario, Tim Stutzle had a goal and two assists to back Joonas Korpisalo, who stopped 21 shots in Ottawa’s second win in eight games. Montreal fell to 1-8-0 in the second half of back-to-backs.

■ Predators 2, Kings 1: At Los Angeles, Ryan O’reilly had a power-play goal and an assist to back Juuse Saros, who had 33 saves, as Nashville won for the third time in four games and handed Los Angeles its 10th loss in 11.

■ Lightning 7, Wild 3: At Tampa, Fla., league points leader Nikita Kucherov had three assists, including his 500th, for Tampa Bay, which won its fourth straight and dealt Minnesota its fifth loss in six games.
