Vanderveer matches benchmark for wins

Stanford’s Tara Vanderveer tied Mike Krzyzewski as the winningest college basketball coach with her 1,202nd victory Friday, guiding the No. 8 Cardinal past visiting Oregon 88-63 while losing top scorer Cameron Brink to a leg injury.

Vanderveer, 70, can set the record Sunday as Stanford (16-2, 5-1 Pac-12) hosts Oregon State (15-2, 4-2). Brink (17.6 ppg, 11.1 rpg) exited with 3:41 left in the first quarter. The Ducks (11-8, 2-4) missed their first eight shots and trailed 20-0.

■ No. 5 UCLA 76, No. 3 Colorado 68: At Boulder, Colo., Charisma Osborne scored 22 points and Lauren Betts 20 for the Bruins (15-1, 4-1 Pac12), who overcame an early nine-point deficit and dealt the Buffaloes (15-2, 5-1) their first loss in nine home games this season. The crowd of 11,338 was a record for a women’s game at Colorado and represente­d the team’s first sellout since March 17, 1995. Only two men’s games have drawn bigger crowds to CU Events Center, which opened in 1979.

■ No. 20 Utah 78, No. 6 Southern California 58: At Salt Lake City, Alissa Pili scored 37 points on 13-for-16 shooting for the Utes (13-5, 3-3 Pac-12), who held the Trojans (13-2, 3-2) to 36.1 percent shooting and scored 27 points off 17 USC turnovers. Top 25 men

■ No. 11 Wisconsin 91, Indiana 79: At Madison, Wis., Max Klesmit scored 23 of his 26 points in the second half, including 20 straight Badgers points, as Wisconsin (14-4,

6-1 Big Ten) beat the Hoosiers (12-7, 4-4) at home for the 20th straight time. Malik Reneau had 28 points for Indiana.
