Davis, Russell power Lakers over Hornets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — D’angelo Russell scored 28 points, Anthony Davis had 26 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists for his third career triple-double and the Los Angeles Lakers held on to defeat the shorthande­d Charlotte Hornets 124-118. Lebron James added 26 points for the Lakers, who finished 4-2 on their road trip to build some much-needed momentum before the upcoming All-star break. Miles Bridges had a career-high 41 points and rookie Brandon Miller chipped in with 33 points for the Hornets, who have lost eight straight games.

■ Pelicans 138, Raptors 100: At New Orleans, Brandon Ingram highlighte­d a 41-point outburst with a career-high eight 3-pointers. New Orleans won its third straight while dropping Toronto to its eighth loss in nine games.

■ Warriors 109, Nets 98: At New York, Stephen Curry scored 29 points, Jonathan Kuminga added 28 for Golden State, which held Brooklyn to 38 percent shooting.

■ Clippers 149, Hawks 144: At Atlanta, Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter for Los Angeles, which shot 60% from 3-point range.

■ Cavaliers 136, Kings 110: At Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell had 29 points for Cleveland, which won its sixth straight and 14th in 15 games.

■ Mavericks 118, 76ers 102: At Philadelph­ia, Kyrie Irving had 23 points and eight assists and Luka Doncic scored 19 points for Dallas.

■ Kansas State 75, No. 4 Kansas 70: At Manhattan, Kan., Tylor Perry scored eight of his 26 points in overtime for the Wildcats (15-8, 5-5 Big 12). The matchup between Kansas State and the Jayhawks was the 300th of the heated rivalry. Dickinson had 21 points and 12 rebounds for Kansas (18-5, 6-4).

■ Islanders 3, Maple Leafs 2: At Toronto, Former Toronto forward Pierre Engvall returned to score late against his former team to back Ilya Sorokin, who made 35 saves.

■ Rangers 2, Avalanche 1: At New York, Alexis Lafreniere scored 1:53 into overtime for New York, which won its second straight.
