The Marvels

Disney+  Feature Film Exclusive

In this entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole, her powers are entangled with superfan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Carol’s estranged niece, Capt. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Together, this unlikely trio, with the help of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Carol’s pet Flerken, Goose, embarks on a cosmic adventure to take on the powerful Dar-benn (Zawe Ashton), new leader of the Kree. Also debuting today is “The Making of The Marvels,” a new installmen­t of Marvel Studios Assembled.

Season Premiere

A couple is granted a free home in Lincoln, Kansas. Nicknamed “The Big Green Monster,” the 1910 Dutch Colonial has been relocated by the family to their farm, where they are restoring this forgotten piece of history into a dream home.

The Conners

ABC, 8 p.m.  Season Premiere

The sixth season of this hit Roseanne reboot returns tonight. Series regulars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert and the rest of the gang are set to return, except for Jayden Rey, who played DJ’S daughter Mary. In this episode, titled “The Publisher Cops Show Pilot,” Jackie (Metcalf) faces problems at the Lunch Box and must take advice from an unexpected guest.

Chicago Med

NBC, 8 p.m.

In “These Are Not the Droids You Are Looking For,” Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) is worried after an accident lands two people close to her in the E.D. Meanwhile, Archer (Steven Weber) returns to Med and treats a man worried about a family curse, while Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) and Zola (Sophia Ali) help a patient on a cross-country road trip.

Nature

PBS, 8 p.m.

Shorebirds fly thousands of miles each year along ancient and largely unknown migratory routes called flyways. Follow conservati­onists and scientists who are racing against the clock to understand and save these birds in “Flyways.”

Not Dead Yet

ABC, 8:30 p.m.  Season Premiere

Gina Rodriguez returns as Nell in Season 2 of this hit comedy about an obituary writer who can talk with dead people. Nell’s editor Dennis (Josh Banday), her best friend and co-worker Sam (Hannah Simone) and her demanding boss Lexi (Lauren Ash) also return, with a new series regular, Brad Garrett, playing Lexi’s dad, the owner of the newspaper. In the first episode of the new season, titled “Not Owning It Yet,” Lexi’s father comes into the office and forms a bond with Nell, much to his daughter’s dismay.

Abbott Elementary

ABC, 9 p.m.  Season Premiere

Season 3 of the workplace comedy following a group of teachers at an elementary school returns tonight, with two back-to-back episodes called “Career Day Part 1” and “Career Day Part 2,” where Janine (Quinta Brunson) plans a districtwi­de Career Day and is anxious for its success.

NOVA

PBS, 9 p.m.

In “Easter Island Origins,” the giant stone heads of Easter Island have inspired theories for centuries, and now new research reveals intriguing evidence of the origins and inspiratio­ns of the ancient Rapanui people who created the iconic monoliths.

FBI True

CBS, 10 p.m.

The Paramount+ true-crime series continues on CBS tonight with two cases. A police detective’s investigat­ion into a Seattle filmmaker leads the FBI to uncover a sex-traffickin­g ring in “Seattle Sex Trafficker: ‘You’re Gonna Be Rich.’” Then in “Finding Aldrich Ames: The Hunt for a Mole,” the FBI tracks down the deadliest traitor in American history.

In the new episode “Masquerade 1966,” documentar­y filmmakers the Maysles brothers capture the events leading up to and following Truman’s (Tom Hollander) iconic Black and White Ball.

Returning from furlough, Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) goes undercover in a tense and high-stakes drug-traffickin­g case in the new episode “Escape.”
