Flames stay hot, top Kings to win fourth straight

CALGARY, Alberta — Yegor Sharangovi­ch scored the go-ahead goal at 12:09 of the third period as the Calgary Flames earned their fourth straight win, 4-2, over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. Andrew Mangiapane, Blake Coleman and Mikael Backlund also scored for Calgary, while Chris Tanev chipped in a pair of assists. Jacob Markstrom had 21 stops and an assist. Phillip Danault and Kevin Fiala provided the offense for Los Angeles, which has dropped the first two of its three-game Western Canada road trip. Making his first start in four games, former Flame Cam Talbot had 33 saves for the Kings.

■ Penguins 4, Canucks 3: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Erik Karlsson scored on a rebound at 1:42 of overtime to win it for Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby had two assists, including his 1,000th evenstreng­th point.

■ Avalanche 5, Stars 1: At Denver, Andrew Cogliano and Nathan Mackinnon scored 49 seconds apart in the second period as Colorado scored five straight after falling behind 1-0 just 60 seconds into the game.

■ Hurricanes 3, Wild 2: At St. Paul, Minn., Stefan Noesen scored a goal with his face midway through the third period for the Hurricanes, which won for the first time in three games.

■ Red Wings 8, Capitals 3: At Detroit, Shayne Gostisbehe­re scored in each of the first two periods as Detroit won its sixth game in a row for the first time in nearly five years.

■ Panthers 3, Sabres 2: At Sunrise, Fla., Matthew Tkachuk scored a goal and had an assist in his return from an upperbody injury sustained Thursday in Carolina.

■ Jets 4, Blues 2: At Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sean Monahan scored a goal and added an assist for Winnipeg, which has won seven of its last eight.

■ Predators 4, Senators 1: At Nashville, Tenn., Roman Josi had two goals and an assist as Nashville extended its winning streak to six games.

■ Flyers 6, Lightning 2: At Philadelph­ia, Tyson Foerster and Bobby Brink each scored a goal to back Samuel Ersson, who made 21 saves.

■ Canadiens 4, Coyotes 2: At Montreal, Sam Montembeau­lt made 36 saves to help Montreal snap its five-game losing streak.

■ Devils 7, Sharks 2: At San Jose, Calif., New Jersey scored seven unanswered goals, and Nico Hischier earned his 200th career assist.
