Wembanyama stars as Spurs halt slide by blitzing Thunder

Victor Wembanyama had 28 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to outdo fellow center and rookie of the year candidate Chet Holmgren, helping host San Antonio halt a five-game skid with a 132-118 win over Oklahoma City on Thursday. Holmgren had 23 points and seven rebounds as the Thunder (41-18) had their six-game win streak halted. They fell one game behind Minnesota atop the West. Devin Vassell scored 28 points for the Spurs (12-48), who had lost 12 of their previous 13 games.

■ Nuggets 103, Heat 97: At Denver, Michael Porter Jr. scored 30 points for Denver, which had a 16-point fourth-quarter lead cut to two in its fifth straight win. The Nuggets lost Jamal Murray (20.9 ppg) to a left ankle sprain in the second quarter. Miami had won five in a row and seven of eight.

■ Bucks 111, Hornets 99: At Charlotte, N.C., Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored 24 points for Milwaukee, which won its fourth straight and capped a four-game season-series sweep of Charlotte in which it outscored the Hornets by an average of 29.2 points per game.

■ Suns 110, Rockets 105: At Phoenix,

Devin Booker scored 20 of his 35 points in the first quarter to give Phoenix a lead it didn’t relinquish in its fourth win in six games. Jalen Green had 34 points for Houston, which missed 34 of 45 3-point tries in its fifth loss in six games.

■ Warriors 110, Knicks 99: At New York, Stephen Curry scored 31 points for Golden

State, which raced to a 14-0 lead and never trailed in its seventh straight road win — the Warriors’ longest such streak since an 11-game run in 2018-19.

■ Magic 115, Jazz 107: At Orlando, Fla., Paolo Banchero had 29 points and nine rebounds for Orlando, which won for the fifth time in six games and handed Utah its seventh loss in eight games. The Jazz’s biggest lead was four points.

■ Nets 124, Hawks 97: At New York, Cam Johnson hit seven 3-pointers and totaled 29 points for Brooklyn, which led 56-50 at halftime in its second win in seven games. Dejounte Murray scored 28 points to pace Atlanta.

■ Lakers 134, Wizards 131, OT: At Los Angeles, Anthony Davis scored 40 points and Lebron James 31 for Los Angeles, which dealt Washington its 13th straight loss. The Wizards led for most of the first three quarters.
