Here’s a look at the multiple unions representing different parts of the staff and teachers in the Clark County School District:

CCEA: Clark County Education Association, the larger of CCSD’S two teachers unions and the only one with the authority to negotiate contracts with the district. CCEA is an independent union.

ESEA: Education Support Employees Association, the support staff union. It represents support employees like aides, clerical, cafeteria and transportation workers with assistance from Teamsters Local 14.

Teamsters Local 14: The union that helps ESEA represent certain blue-collar job classifications

POA: Police Officers Association, which represents frontline CCSD Police at the sergeant and officer ranks.

NEA-SN: National Education Association of Southern Nevada, the smaller of the teachers unions. Its parent unions are NSEA at the state level and NEA at the national level. Teachers in NEA-SN may also join CCEA and vice versa.

NSEA: Nevada State Education Association, the state-level parent union of NEA-SN, ESEA, and most support professional and teacher unions elsewhere in Nevada.

CCASAPE: Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-technical Employees. This includes campus administrators up to the principal level and professionals in certain central administrative departments like the communications unit and employee-management relations. These employees are not eligible for Senate Bill 231 raises.

PAA: Police Administrators Association. This covers a handful of CCSDPD supervisors who are lieutenants or captains. These employees are not eligible for SB 231 raises.
