Thompson, Curry power Warriors to key win in L.A.

LOS ANGELES — Klay Thompson scored 27 points, Stephen Curry had 23 and the Golden State Warriors capitalize­d on Anthony Davis’ absence for a 134-120 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Andrew Wiggins had 17 points for the 10th-place Warriors, who hit 26 of their 41 3-point attempts. The Warriors have won eight of nine down the stretch to move within a half-game of ninth-place

Los Angeles. Golden State also won the head-to-head tiebreaker between the rivals.

Lebron James had 33 points for the Lakers, who now have back-to-back home losses. Davis sat out after being hit in the head by Minnesota’s Kyle Anderson in the Lakers’ loss to the Timberwolv­es on Sunday.

■ Bucks 104, Celtics 91: At

Milwaukee, Patrick Beverley had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Milwaukee, which snapped a four-game skid. Bucks star Giannis Antetokoun­mpo left late in the third quarter with a calf injury. The teams combined for a record-low two free throw attempts, with the Celtics becoming the first team in NBA history to not shoot one.

■ Thunder 112, Kings 105: At Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-alexander scored 40 points in his return from injury to rally Oklahoma City from a 20-point deficit. Sacramento center Domantas Sabonis’ double-double streak ended at 61 games. Sabonis had eight points and 13 rebounds.

■ Mavericks 130, Hornets 104: At Charlotte, N.C., Luka Doncic had 39 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists to set a Dallas franchise record for points in a season with 2,341, surpassing Mark Aguirre’s 2,330 in 1983-84. The Mavs have won 15 of 17.

■ Pelicans 110, Trail Blazers 100: At Portland, Ore., Trey Murphy had 31 points to rally New Orleans from an 11-point deficit in the second quarter. Portland’s Scoot Henderson had 15 assists, the most by a rookie in team history.

■ Spurs 102, Grizzlies 87: At Memphis, Tenn., Victor Wembanyama had 18 points, seven blocks, seven rebounds and six assists as San Antonio snapped a 13-game losing steak to Memphis.

■ Pacers 140, Raptors 123: At Toronto, Tyrese Haliburton scored 30 points and Pascal Siakam added 16 points as Indiana won its third straight and snapped Toronto’s two-game win streak.

■ Clippers 105, Suns 92: At Phoenix,russell Westbrook had 16 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists for his first triple-double of the season. Los Angeles has won four straight and seven of eight.

■ Knicks 128, Bulls 117: At Chicago, Jalen Brunson scored 45 in his second straight 40-point game, helping New York win its second in a row after losing four of five.

■ Nuggets 111, Jazz 95: At Salt Lake City, Jamal Murray scored 28 points, and Nikola Jokic tallied 28 points and 13 rebounds to hand Utah its 13th straight loss.

■ Timberwolv­es 130, Wizards 121:

At Minneapoli­s, Anthony Edwards scored a career-high 51 points as Minnesota overcame an early 21-point deficit.

■ Heat 117, Hawks 111: At Atlanta, Tyler Herro scored four of his 33 points in the second overtime as Miami won for the fifth time in seven games.

■ 76ers 120, Pistons 102: At Philadelph­ia, Joel Embiid had 37 points and 11 rebounds as Philadelph­ia won its sixth straight.

■ Rockets 118, Magic 106: At Houston, Fred Vanvleet scored a seasonhigh 37 points as Houston snapped a five-game skid.
