Panthers show fight(s), rout Bruins; Canucks beat Oilers

-

Florida showed fight and then got in some fights. And the Panthers were thrilled by all the outcomes.

Aleksander Barkov had two goals and two assists, Sam Reinhart added four assists, and the Panthers routed Boston 6-1 on Wednesday in Sunrise, Florida, to tie the second-round series at one win apiece.

Brandon Montour had a goal and two assists as Florida chased Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman early in the third period after four straight goals.

The teams combined for 146 third-period penalty minutes after multiple dustups, highlighted by Panthers right wing Matthew Tkachuk getting several shots in on Bruins right wing David Pastrnak in a star-on-star showdown.

Pastrnak and Tkachuk each got a 10-minute misconduct — making them the last two of 12 players to leave the game early.

■ Canucks 5, Oilers 4: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Conor Garland scored the go-ahead goal with 5:34 left for Vancouver, which tallied four unanswered goals to overcome a 4-1 deficit in the series opener. A goal by Nikita Zadorov, assisted by former Golden Knight Teddy Blueger, drew the Canucks even 39 seconds before Garland’s winner. Zach Hyman scored twice for Edmonton, which was outshot 24-16. After putting five shots on goal in the first period, Vancouver outshot the Oilers 19-7.
