Earl E. Hehnly

MYERSTOWN - Earl E. Hehnly, 82, Myerstown, passed away on Friday January 26, 2024 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Hammer) Hehnly, with whom he would have celebrated a 63rd wedding anniversary in April. Earl was born in Shoeneck on October 21, 1941 a son of the late Earl W. and Ellen Krafft Hehnly. He followed the Hehnly family by forming his own masonry business for over 50 years. Earl was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown as well as the Grundsau Lodge #17 and Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM. He was also a member of the Rajah Temple in Reading. Earl enjoyed vacationing in Maine for many years and was well known for attending auctions. He loved watching the Phillies and mowing grass. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Bryon Hehnly and wife Brenda; Betsy Hehnly; Bruce Hehnly; Amie Hehnly; grandchildren: Zachary and Jonathan and their wives as well as 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother: Roger Hehnly and wife Jackie and a sister: Dianna wife of Larry Shade. He was preceded in death by a brother: Paul Hehnly. Memorial services will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 10:00am.in St. Luke Lutheran Church 1432 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown, PA 17088. A reception to greet family and friends will follow the service in the social hall of the church. Masonic services will take place at 9:45 am. prior to the memorial service. Interment in Schaefferstown Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to his church.
