Wing Gor­don to trans­fer from No. 1 UConn

UConn sopho­more Lexi Gor­don is leav­ing the pro­gram.

A 6-foot wing from Texas. she has scored just 12 points and grabbed 13 re­bounds while see­ing lim­ited ac­tion in 30 games for the top-ranked Huskies. She has played just 10 min­utes this sea­son, notch­ing a sin­gle free throw, while miss­ing all five of her shots from the floor.

Coach Geno Auriemma says Gor­don wants to trans­fer to a school where she will have more op­por­tu­ni­ties to play.

No. 9 Ten­nessee: Ren­nia Davis had 24 points and nine re­bounds and host Ten­nessee over­came a 20-point, sec­ond-half deficit to stay un­beaten with a 65-55 vic­tory over Stet­son. Ev­ina West­brook added 20 points and was 9-of-9 from the foul line to help the Lady Vol­un­teers ( 7-0) avoid a stun­ning upset against an At­lantic Sun school whose only win this sea­son came against NAIA pro­gram Web­ber In­ter­na­tional.

No. 10 N.C. State: Kiara Les­lie scored a sea­son­high 24 points for host N.C. State in first game as a top-10 team since 2014, as the Wolf­pack beat Hamp­ton 83-51.

No. 14 Min­nesota: Destiny Pitts scored 15 points to help host Min­nesota im­prove to 8-0 with a 75-39 win against In­car­nate Word.

No. 15 Syra­cuse: Digna Straut­mane had 17 points and host Syra­cuse hit a sea­son-high 16 3-point­ers in a 96-51 vic­tory over Mary­land-Eastern Shore. No. 16 Iowa: Ta­nia Davis made a 3-poin­ter with 2.3 sec­onds to go and host Iowa held off Iowa State 73-70, giv­ing the Hawkeyes three straight wins in the se­ries for the first time in more than two decades. No. 20 DePaul: Mart’E Grays and re­serve Dee Bekelja scored 16 points apiece and DePaul over­came a slow start to beat North­west­ern 76-60 in Chicago.

No. 22 South Carolina: Bianca Cuevas-Moore scored 12 points on four 3-point­ers, and Alexis Jen­nings made all five of her shots for 10 points for host South Carolina in an 80-50 win against Ap­palachian State.
