Her Pregnancies Are Always Difficult

-

February 2013 August 2014

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a nightmare for a pregnant woman. The intense nausea results in dehydration and weight loss at a time when nutrition is so important to a developing baby. And this is Kate’s third time suffering from the condition. The royal was less than 12 weeks pregnant with Prince George in December 2012 when she was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London for three days to restore nutrients. Two months later (above left), Kate still struggled to put on weight. In September 2014, the palace announced that the duchess was expecting baby No. 2 — and again suffering from extreme morning sickness. But that time, the pin-thin brunette was at least spared hospitalization. Instead, the palace explained that Kate was “being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.”

Pippa Middleton famously stole the spotlight at sister Kate’s wedding in 2011. But she doesn’t want her sibling to return the favor when she ties the knot with hedge fund manager James Matthews, 41, next year. “Pippa is worried that Kate’s pregnancy will overshadow the nuptials,” says a source. “Pippa desperately wants the focus to be on her rather than her sister’s bump.” Now Pippa, 33, is even considering rescheduling her big day. “She may put off the wedding until Kate has had her baby,” confirms a friend. “Pippa is planning things around Kate.”
