THERE WAS A LIEN ON ROBYN’S HOUSE

Money woes have plagued the Brown family, making it difficult for the wives to strike out on their own. And Robyn has been one of the hardest hit. A few years ago, her teen son, Dayton (whose birth name is David Jessop), “had a horrific ATV accident and had to go through extensive surgery to repair his face,” reveals family friend Kendra Pollard. “Insurance covered it a little bit,” but eventually a “very, very large” hospital lien was put on Robyn’s Las Vegas home for unpaid medical bills. The document at right reveals the debt wasn’t settled until August 2015.

Kendra. “Kody is a narcissist who has just made too many empty promises.”

THE WIVES REVOLT

Robyn, 38, is the only wife legally married to Kody (the rest are “spiritually married” to him). But she won’t be for long. “She’s quietly consulting with attorneys,” Kendra reveals. “When Robyn leaves, she plans to move to Northern California. But she won’t officially walk away until she’s financially secure. She wants to save up money.”

Staying in the marriage has been a struggle. “Kody’s let Robyn down,” reveals Kendra. “She did not want to be in a polygamist marriage. Her goal was to have Kody leave

the other wives because she knows he’s not in love with them.” Instead, after initially favoring her, he’s started treating Robyn as badly as her sister wives. In January, the brunette gave birth to her fifth child ( her second with Kody), Ariella, and her husband fat-shamed her for not losing all the baby weight. “He told her, ‘ You used to be considered a hot wife. Unfortunately, we can’t really sell that anymore,’” says Kendra. “Robyn was completely devastated, and kicked Kody out.”

In theory, Kody had three other wives’ homes to retreat to, but he stayed with a pal after the confrontation. The reason: The other three wives kicked him out, too! Kody is no longer welcome at the homes of Meri, 45, Janelle, 47, and Christine, 44. “They’re not really with Kody right now,” says Kendra. “They don’t deal with him unless they have to.”

BACK-TO-BACK EXITS

First wife Meri has had her foot out the door since Kody divorced her in 2014. Although they’d been legal- ly wed for 24 years, Kody decided she should become just a spiritual wife, allowing him to marry Robyn and adopt her three kids from a previous relationship. Meri was hurt and sought comfort in an online affair with a man who famously turned out to be a female catfisher. The scandal rocked the Brown family. And while Kody feigned forgiveness on camera, Kendra says he’s still seethi ng . “Mer i is done with Kody, too,” says Kendra, noting that controlling Kody long ago squashed Meri’s dreams of starting a career as a teacher. She’s been dating a man who lives in Hawaii, and is secretly planning a wedding to him. “The only thing keeping her around,” says Kendra, “is her TLC contract.”

The next spouse to go will be Christine. “She’ll leave before Robyn,” says Kendra, adding that the star often cries herself to sleep at night over her husband’s mistreatment. Janelle, too, is getting out. While Kendra says the Browns vowed not to have businesses outside of the family, the sister wife launched a lifestyle site called Strive with Janelle recently without consulting the others. Kody’s response? Fat-shaming her. “He flat- out said to her, ‘ You’re overweight. You’re not somebody who should be out there preaching

health and fitness,’” says Kendra. “Janelle’s not an emotional person, but she completely lost it and was in tears. She walked out on Kody and went to stay with relatives.”

WAR BETWEEN THE WOMEN

The ladies haven’t found much comfort in each other, either. Despite a new Sister Wives trailer where Christine appears to be a shoulder for Robyn to cry on, “Christine really wants to rip Robyn’s eyes out,” reveals Kendra. “She thinks Robyn is obnoxious, spoiled and a home-wrecker. Christine has told her, ‘ I wake up every morning hoping [ you joining the family] was just a dream.’”

Janelle has harsh words for Meri, too. “She’s disgusted with Meri,” notes Kendra. “Janelle can’t believe TLC has painted Meri as a hero after her catfishing scandal. Meri allowed it to happen and ignored the entire family while she was doing it. Now Janelle and Meri

don’t talk.”

Some of this drama is set to make it on-screen. But Kody is still doing his best to fake it for the cameras. While he sleeps in Robyn’s bed some nights, he some-

times heads to one of the other wives’ homes in the middle of the night to sleep on the couch, Kendra tells Life & Style. That way, when the TV crew arrives

in the morning, it looks as if he slept there. There’s no point in putting on the ruse at Meri’s house, since it’s usually empty. With Meri often in Hawaii with her new man, the family has been discussing converting the home into a place for the remaining wives’ mothers to stay, or turning it into a crash pad for the eldest kids in the family. The wives and Kody “are all just associates at this point,” says Kendra. The only love they feel at this point is for their children. “No matter who leaves, no matter what ends, they will always find a way to come together for the kids,” she says. “Those kids are very important to them.”
