comfort of her own home,” says the source. She’s managed to get William’s approval, though he’s obviously concerned about her well-being. “Kate has been advised to go on bed rest now that she’s around the seven-month mark of her pregnancy,” says the royals insider. Kate’s agreed, if it proves necessary. “She joked that William can make her breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed,” the insider says.

Kate’s actually more worried about what happens after the twins are born. “Kate’s really enjoying being pregnant,” insists the source. “But she is concerned that she and William will have their hands full once the girls arrive.” That’s why the couple are getting all the nursery prep out of the way — stat! “William and Kate have been busy working on the nursery,” says the source, “which is very traditional and white.” It’s also very expensive. “Kate wants the twins to have nothing but the best, so they are actually building a new nursery” in Kensington’s Apartment 1A, where they live, shares the royals insider. “It’s costing about $75,000 and will have the best toys and play structures.”

While the nursery is for the babies, the twins’ siblings are very much on both William and Kate’s minds right now. “While Charlotte loves putting her hand on Mommy’s bump and feeling the babies move now, Kate’s concerned that she may act up once the babies are born,” says the source. “She’s used to being the only girl and loves being the center of attention. So they’re going to make sure that Charlotte and George don’t feel pushed out and still get all the attention they need.”

SUPPORT SYSTEM

William and Kate have plenty of loved ones stepping up to the plate to make sure the transition goes smoothly. Aside from her hands- on mother, Carole Middleton, 63, and their trusted nanny, Maria Borrallo, Prince Harry’s fi- ancée, Meghan Markle, already has been pitching in. “Meghan has been by Kate’s side during the pregnancy and is always helping out,” reveals the source. “Meghan often cooks healthy meals for Kate to ensure she’s getting all the right nutrients. She adores George and Charlotte and looks after them if Kate wants to take a nap.”

The kids have even clinched starring roles in Meghan’s May 19 wedding to their uncle Harry, 33. And though the

babies will only be a month old at the time of the nuptials, Meghan, 36, plans to make them feel special, too. “She’s been shopping at Tiffany’s and Peter Jones,” says the source, “for baby gifts to surprise Kate with!”

The queen is overjoyed to be welcoming two new great-grandchildren, says the palace insider. But the most important member of Kate’s support team is, as always, her husband. Though a pal says that William jokes about taking on more royal responsibilities “just to stay out of the house and get some peace,” in reality he is the pregnant duchess’ constant rock. “William can’t wait for the twins to be born,” says the source. “He’s a fantastic husband and extremely supportive of Kate.”
