Why Katy Perry finally ended her years-long

feud with Taylor Swift.

They’ve gone from bad blood back to mad love! After six years of feuding, pop princesses Katy Perry and Taylor Swift finally buried the hatchet when Katy, 33, sent Taylor, 28, a literal olive branch — and an apology note — at the start of Taylor’s Reputation Stadium Tour . The change of heart might seem out of the blue, but “Katy has really matured over the past year,” an insider explains. “She’s all about girl power. She accepts full responsibility for any miscommunica- tion between them and would rather put her energy into being friends than enemies.” The ill will began when Katy hired dancers away from Taylor, which the “Shake It Off” singer saw as a personal attack. She retaliated with one of her patented revenge songs, “Bad Blood.” After all this time, “Taylor was thrilled to receive an apology” from her longtime rival, the insider says. “The positive thoughts in the note really made her day!” Taylor liked it so much, she shared it with the world in an Instagram story — which wasn’t exactly what Katy was expecting. “Katy was slightly taken aback when she saw that Taylor posted the handwritten letter on social media,” the insider says. But the “Firework” singer isn’t about to start a new feud. “She knows how strategic Taylor is about generating publicity for herself — she gets it,” the insider notes. “Right now, Katy fully supports Taylor and hopes her tour will be a huge success.”

In Katy’s note to Taylor (inset below), she called her “old friend” and said she was “deeply sorry” and wanted to “clear the air.”
