The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga spills her healthy routine to Life & Style
How RHONJ star Melissa Gorga stays in fabulous shape.
Sundays are cheat days. “I eat whatever I want,” the Real Housewife of New Jersey tells Life & Style, noting that pizza is a particular fave. But the rest of the week, carbohydrates are a major no-no for Melissa. “I eat right. I eat healthy,” says the former Gorga’s Homemade Pizza & Pasta restaurant owner of her clean diet. “For breakfast, it’s usually pretty light. It’s like a banana and a coffee. Lunch is like a salad. And dinner is always a meat and a vegetable.”
Running after three kids isn’t enough to get this body. Melissa says she focuses on working out four or five times each week. “I do a lot of weights. I squat. I like to tone,” the 39-year-old shares. “For me, I don’t do as much cardio because I tend to get too skinny if I do cardio.” Her biggest advice, though, is just to commit. “It’s part of my life to go to the gym,” she explains. “It’s a lifestyle.”
It’s no surprise that the “On Display” singer uses music to help motivate her during workouts. “I always have my Earpods in my ear,” she revealed at the Inside Beauty Grand Opening in NYC. “I don’t even hear people — they walk by me at the gym and are talking and I don’t even know what they’re saying. The music is blasting and usually it’s like party music.” One of her fave exercise tunes? Wiz Khalifa’s “Work Hard, Play Hard.”
