CALL A TRUCE?

-

All the royal family wanted for Christmas was to silence rumors of a mounting rift. Standing side by side, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle giggled like girlfriends as they made their way from Queen Elizabeth II’S Sandringham estate in Norfolk to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on Christmas Day. But was the 37-year- old Suits star simply putting her acting skills to good use? “Kate and Meghan have had enough media training to last them a lifetime,” a source tells Life & Style. “They know full well how to put on a happy front for the cameras when it’s a completely different story behind closed doors.” As Life & Style has previously reported, the 92- yearold monarch was forced to intervene, demanding that Meghan and Kate, 36, spend the holidays together in order to prove that the dueling duchesses — whose frosty relationship is said to be driving a wedge between brothers Harry, 34, and William, 36— aren’t feuding. And while their perfor- mance outside the church may have been just an act, Kate and Meghan have made steps to mend their friendship. During the festivities, the sisters-inlaw “muttered half-hearted apologies,” reveals the source, who says Meghan made the first move. “She and Kate found a way to keep the peace even if not all has been forgiven.”

?? ?? “There will always be some form of competition between Kate and Meghan,” says a source. “They’re both very different people.”
