MILEY’S Baby Joy
It was hard to miss Miley Cyrus. On Jan. 9, the star stepped out in a bright green and blue button-down and short shorts in Miami. But it was what appeared to be poking out from underneath her flashy getup that really caused a stir: a baby bump.
The star’s hush- hush December wedding isn’t the only secret that Miley and new husband Liam Hemsworth have had to keep of late. Life & Style has exclusively learned that the singer, 26, and the actor, 29, are starting a family. “Friends are buzzing that she’s pregnant,” says an insider. “Liam begged Miley to have kids for years, but after their Malibu mansion burned down, she likely realized that life was too short to wait around anymore. Now everyone’s suddenly noticed that Liam keeps affectionately putting his hands on Miley’s belly!”
THE SIGNS ARE THERE
She’s been known as a party girl. But in May 2017 Miley revealed she’d gotten sober, even giving up her beloved marijuana. It didn’t last. In a late 2018 interview, the star revealed her own mother, Tish, had gotten her back into smoking pot. “She recently stopped again, though,” reveals the insider of friends’ baby suspicions. “She’s also avoiding alcohol and gets all gooey whenever she sees a baby — the old Miley was never like that!”
The old Miley also never saw a point in getting married. But things change. “One of the reasons Liam and Miley tied the knot was so they could make it official before starting a family,” says the insider. “Miley’s really matured, she’s reached a new milestone in her life and seems ready to settle down. She’s said she can just imagine having four or five kids running around!”
GROWING PAINS?
First, they’re starting with just one. “Miley and Liam have said they don’t care if the baby is a girl or a boy,” notes the insider, “as long as the baby is healthy.”
There’s one area of parenthood the duo are very
opinionated on, though: names. “They are at odds over their different tastes,” admits a source. “Liam has said he likes traditional names, while Miley goes for out-there names. Liam’s already declared he doesn’t want a child named Moonbeam or Rainbow.”
Despite her questionable moniker choices, Liam has to be confident he’s found the perfect co-parent in Miley, though. “She has all the right qualities to be an amazing mom,” says the insider. “She’s one of the most loving people you’ll ever meet!”
