CHANNING TATUM is embroiled in a battle over his daughter.

In new court papers, Channing Tatum faces off with Jenna Dewan over custody

-

The details were heartwarming. Responding to his ex Jenna Dewan’s request for a custody agreement in their ongoing divorce, Channing Tatum meticulously outlines in new court docs the stable, happy atmosphere he’s created for their daughter Everly, 5, post-split — from the art projects they do together after school (“we color, draw, paint, build fairy castles and make slime”) to fun encounters with Rainbow and Midnight, the two chickens father and daughter “pet and spend hours with” at their weekend home in Ojai, Calif. Writes Channing, 38, “I am very involved in Everly’s life.”

But he’s not happy with

the current custody situation. In the same paperwork where he paints himself as Father of the Year — it was in his home that Everly learned to sleep without pull-ups at night! — Channing seemingly calls out Jenna, saying they haven’t established “a consistent schedule” and he’s observed how it “would frustrate Everly.” “Everly has expressed many times that she wants to know what the schedule is,” Dad insists, “and makes our nanny or I promise that what we say the schedule will be, actually occurs.” What’d been an amicable split is clearly now anything but. “Jenna is pissed about the filing and its insinuations about her own parenting,” an insider reveals exclusively to Life & Style. “Channing may be known as Mr. Nice Guy in Hollywood, but he’s not playing nice in the divorce — friends are saying it’s turning nasty.”

TAKING A STAND

When the couple split last April, they said they’d made the decision “lov- ingly” and remained “two best friends.” But there was nothing overly friendly about Channing’s January declaration, or the response it elicited from Jenna’s lawyer, Samantha Spector. “Nothing in the world matters more to Jenna than the comfort and well-being of her daughter,” Spector insisted. “Everything Jenna has done and will continue to do is with that in mind.”

Channing is calling for more “structure and consistency” for their daughter, though. And it may have a little something to do with

both of her parents already having moved on. In October, it was revealed that Channing has been wooing singer Jessie J, 30, while Jenna, 38, is romancing Broadway star Steve Kazee, 43. Weeks after Channing and Everly were spotted at one of Jessie’s concerts, Jenna posted in November about having “nothing but respect” for her ex’s new ladylove. The same can’t necessarily be said for the men. “Channing doesn’t want Steve to move in as Everly’s father figure,” says the in-

been arguing over that, but Jenna feels like it’s a double standard.” Everly spends time with Jessie, and Jenna doesn’t blink an eye.

Now friends of the pair hope they can put their differences aside to realize they both want the same thing: What’s best for their little girl. “Both of them love Everly very much,” says the insider, “and neither wants to get screwed over in the custody negotiations.”
