Inside KATY PERRY and ORLANDO BLOOM’S dream wedding.
It was the moment Katy Perry was waiting for. Only she had no idea it was coming: On Valentine’s Day, her on/off love of three years, Orlando Bloom, proposed with a huge floralinspired ring, then whisked her to a surprise party to celebrate their engagement with family and friends. “Katy was beginning to doubt whether Orlando would ever do it,” says an insider. “She was over the moon when he popped the question.”
Now she’s busily planning the wedding of her dreams. The second marriage for both stars — his first, to model Miranda Kerr, ended in 2013 after three years, while she was wed to Russell Brand for just 14 months after a 2010 ceremony in India — “neither Katy nor Orlando see the point in waiting around,” an insider reveals to Life & Style, exclusively. “They plan to tie the knot toward the end of 2019, and Katy’s adamant about taking charge of the creative side of things — but she’s still hiring a top wedding planner to help out!”
EXPENSIVE TASTE
Money is no object when it comes to bringing the bride’s fantasies to life. After all, Katy’s engagement ring cost a reported $5 million, so the wedding has to be equally spectacular. “It’ll be a no- expenses-spared weekend that will probably cost at least the same as her ring,” says the insider, adding that the couple would hire private jets to fly in friends like Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Elton John and American Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, if they decide on a destination wedding. But that’s still up in the air. While Katy, 34, is gunning to say their “I do”s in cinderella’ s castle at disney World, notes the insider, Orlando ,42, isn’t on board. Instead, he’s suggested tying the knot in a castle in his native U.K. or Ireland: “That way Katy can still feel like a princess on her big day,” explains the insider, who says Dublin’s Luttrel lstown Castle, where David and Victoria Beckham wed, is at the top of the list. “She’s obsessed.”
There’s no doubt Katy will at least look regal on her big day. The pop star’s dress is going to be “over-the-
top and sparkly,” says the insider, adding that Katy and Orlando plan to write their own vows and have already chosen their ring bearer: Orlando’s son with Miranda, Flynn, 8. “Flynn’s so excited. He adores his stepmom-to-be.”
Now the singer’s making sure Flynn — and the rest of their guests — are sufficiently entertained after she and Orlando exchange rings. “It will be sophisticated but eccentric and fun, true to Katy’s style,” says the insider of the wedding reception. “There will be photo booths and props and karaoke so she and her pals can belt out their favorite tunes.” There’s also talk of a surprise performance — but not from Katy. Says the insider: “They’re hoping Elton will take the mic!”
