Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth prepare to face off in court.

It’s time to face the music. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are gearing up to confront each other in court for the first time since announcing their split in August. According to legal documents obtained by Life & Style, the estranged pair may have to appear at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in LA on Jan. 21 if the Hunger Games hunk, 29, and his high- powered attorney, Laura Wasser, don’t file the necessary paperwork in time — and “given their history, it’s likely to get messy,” spills a source. “Miley and Liam haven’t really spoken since they called it quits and the tension has been brewing.” The Australian actor “still holds a grudge” against the “Wrecking Ball” singer, 27, for flaunting her fling with Kaitlynn Carter, 31, before they had even revealed to the world that their marriage was over, says the source, adding that the insinuation in her new single “Slide Away” that he drank too much and popped pills hasn’t helped matters, either.

“There’s a lot that went on behind closed doors that we don’t know about — sex scandals, drugs, jealous rages — that could come out in the divorce proceedings,” the source notes. While Liam’s more private than his soon-tobe ex-wife, “he isn’t above digging up dirt on her to try to explain his side of the story to a judge.”

?? ?? Like a wrecking ball, “Miley could be planning to air all of Liam’s dirty laundry,” warns Life & Style’s source.
