WEDDING WOE
Find out what’s stopping recently engaged Amanda Bynes from getting hitched.
What a girl wants…is to walk down the aisle! Amanda Bynes announced on Valentine’s Day that she had gotten engaged to a man named Paul Mitchell — and while the troubled actress, 33, is thrilled to have finally found “tha love of my life,” her family and friends have found plenty of reasons why these two should not be wed. “Amanda isn’t in the right headspace to be getting married to anyone,” a source tells Life & Style, “and even if she was, Paul isn’t the one for her. The engagement ring he gave her isn’t even real.” The couple have reportedly been dating for several months after meeting at Oak Forest Recovery, a drug addiction treatment center in LA, where Paul is said to have also been a patient. “Amanda’s the type of girl who thinks with her heart, not her head,” admits the source, “so it’s a good thing that she’s under a conservatorship and can’t run off to Vegas.” After suffering a very public breakdown in 2013, the What I Like About You star was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold and as it stands, her mother, Lynn Bynes, has to give her consent before Amanda and Paul could officially become husband and wife. “Lynn’s in control of Amanda’s legal affairs, including marriage,” explains the source. “Considering she hasn’t met Paul yet, it’s unlikely that Lynn will give her blessing or allow a wedding to happen anytime soon.”
