SECRET AFFAIR
Friends Bombshell
Friends castmates Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were involved in a hush-hush romance!
Could they have kept a bigger secret? Ross Geller and Rachel Green’s will-they-or-won’t-they relationship enthralled viewers over 10 seasons of Friends, and it appears life may have imitated art behind the scenes. David Schwimmer recently revealed that he and Jennifer Aniston had a fouryear on-again, off-again affair during their time on the show, claims an insider, without Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry or Matt Leblanc ever knowing! Although a rep for the 53-year-old actor denies the story, Life & Style’s insider alleges that David “let it slip” while the cast and crew were grabbing drinks following a production meeting for the upcoming Friends reunion on HBO Max. “Everyone was shocked,” the insider recalls. “Especially Courteney. She and Jen tell each other everything.” The reason behind the duo’s secrecy, explains the insider, was that “they were scared that their blossoming romance would end up affecting the storyline or worse, even cost them their jobs.” When asked if the cast had to sign a contract stipulating they wouldn’t sleep with one another, David once told Andy Cohen, “Well, that was broken.” Their passionate affair began “early on in the series,” dishes the insider. “David was head over heels in love with her.” The 51-year-old actress, adds the insider, “was the one who ended it.” She met Brad Pitt in 1998, four years after the series started filming, and the couple married two years later. “David was heartbroken of course, but they did their best not to let it affect their friendship,” the insider notes of the split, “because at the end of the day, he and Jen were, and always will be, pals.”
