WHY THEY WON’ T STAY AT HARRY& MEG HAN’ S MANSION

-

Harry and Meghan have plenty of room at their temporary digs located on 22 acres atop LA’S Beverly Ridge Estates guard-gated community. But in recent weeks, reports have revealed that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, 63, has moved in, and that the Sussexes’ security team has chased off drones hovering above. Kate and William are desperate to keep their visit private and “Kate wants to be by the beach,” says a source, explaining why the Cambridges will rent their own place during the getaway. “Plus, that way everyone has a little breathing room as they ease back into things.”

far away from his family,” says the source, “it hit home for Harry just how much he misses William.”

KATE’S GREAT IDEA

The brothers have Kate, 38, to thank for physically bringing them back together. “It was actually Kate who called Harry to organize the trip. She wanted to give William something to look forward to for his 38th birthday [on June 21],” explains the source, “although they won’t be traveling to LA until shortly afterward.” But when they do, it will be in style. “They’ll fly to and from the U. S. on a private jet,” adds the source. “It’s been so long since they last went on a holiday, they don’t mind splashing out on a few little luxuries to make it extra special.”

That includes their accommodations. Though Harry and Meghan have room to spare in the eight-bed

room, 12-bathroom $18 million Tuscan-style Beverly Hills mansion they’re borrowing from pal Tyler Perry at the moment, the Cambridges are making other arrangements, shares the source: “Kate values her privacy and is eyeing a ranch to rent in Malibu for 10 days. She wants to be closer to the ocean and thinks it makes sense to have their own place — just in case there are any fallouts.”

Plus, while Kate is allergic to horses, daughter Charlotte, 5, is a budding equestrian who’s looking forward to riding during the getaway. “Charlotte loves horses,” concedes the source, noting the couple are also planning to appease son George, 6, with a road trip to Big Sur. “George is obsessed with tents and is begging his parents to go camping in the woods.”

Still, the highlight of the vacation will no doubt be George, Charlotte and their 2-year-old brother

Louis’ interactions with

Meghan and Harry’s

13-month-old son, Archie. “That’s what William and Kate are most excited about — the kids finally getting to know each other,” reveals the source. “They want the cousins to be friends for life.”

It’s all a gamble, but everyone is hoping for the best. “William and Harry are hopeful that their wives will form a stronger bond, too, once they all get together in person in new surroundings, away from the chaos of royal life,” explains the source. “It’s no secret that Meghan has a strong personality — Harry’s even hinted that she needs to be on her best behavior. But Kate is going into it with a positive attitude.” Truthfully, adds the source, “she’s more worried about traveling with three kids than she is about Meghan!”
