The holidays are over and so is 2020 — thankfully

-

We’re nearly through the first month of the new year and even though we’ve seen some unprecedented events unfold nationally, we are still hoping 2021 will be better than 2020.

February will be here soon and with its arrival, we begin to think of Valentine’s Day and all things romantic. We have dedicated this month’s Lifestyle magazine to love and romance. What does that mean? Well, for starters, we’ve included a list of romantic movies if you want to watch one with that special person — or by yourself.

If you’re into making cocktails, you’ll find a recipe for a Valentine cocktail that’s easy to make. And what’s a cocktail without chocolate? This month, Wheeler Cowperthwaite shares his recipe for “befuddling” brownies, sure to win over any brownie lover.

Norma Gurba takes us back to 1865, with her story about a bull and bear fight. Meanwhile, Vern Lawson talks about a local legend — Frank Zappa and the newest

documentary chronicling the musician’s life.

In case you need some ideas for Valentine’s Day crafts — or cookies — we have you covered there, too.

Be sure to check back with us next month, when we talk about spring and gardening.
