Summer is coming to an end

-

The summer seems to have gone by way too quick, but considering it’s been seemingly hotter than normal, maybe that’s not such a bad thing.

However, it’s still warm enough to fire up the grill and enjoy some end-of-summer cookouts.

This month, we are focusing on some recipes and ideas that you can use, when trying to figure out how to answer the age-old question: “What’s for dinner?”

Wheeler Cowperthwaite is already thinking about moving his cooking adventures indoors, so he has a great recipe for coq au vin. It might sound like a difficult dish to make, but it’s rather simple.

Maybe you need a new pie recipe to go along with the coq au vin entree. If so, we have you covered.

Have you ever wondered how to grill the perfect burger? We have tips for juicier burgers sure to please everyone.

We also have our monthly columns like Hometown History. This month, Vern Lawson remembers the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Norma Gurba, meanwhile, remembers pioneer community leader Bert “B.C.” McMurray in her column.

Enjoy the end of the summer season because soon enough, it’ll be spooky season. Look for some great Halloween ideas in next month’s edition of Lifestyle magazine.
