Pumpkin walk at Massari Park

The City of Palmdale will host its annual Pumpkin Walk from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 22, at Domenic Massari Park, located at 37716 55th St East.

City staff will transform the park into a mini pumpkin walk where children may visit stations for free trick or treat giveaways, enjoy recreation­al games and take photos with Halloween themed inflatable­s. Participan­ts from the Desert Willow Dance Troupe from Desert Willow Middle School in the Palmdale School District will perform a dance to the music of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Community exhibitors will also be on site to hand out treats and informatio­n about their local businesses. Participat­ing partners include Palmdale Church, Target and Lowes.

Admission is free and is open to kids up to age 12 and their families.

Haunted house

The City of Palmdale will host a spooktacul­ar Haunted House from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, at the Marie Kerr Recreation Building, 39700 30th St. West.

The building will be transforme­d into a haunted house and maze designed for ages 13 and above. Costumes are not permitted.

Admission is free. Ages 13 and up are welcome. Facial

coverings will be required per COVID-19 protocols.

Howl-O-Ween event returns to Yellen Park

The City of Palmdale will host a Howl-O-Ween event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Oct. 30 at Yellen Dog Park, located at 5100 E. Ave. S in Palmdale.

Howl-O-Ween will include free Halloween treats for dogs and people, a photo area, spooky agility equipment, music and a dog costume contest. Costume contest participan­ts must register for the contest at the park on the day of the event, before 10:15 a.m. The contest will begin at 10:30 a.m., and winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Prizes from PetSmart will be awarded to the winners.

The event is free and open to the public.

Drive-thru trick-or-treat

SAVES 2nd Annual Spooktacul­ar Drive-thru trickor-treat will be held from 3-5 p.m., Oct. 29 at 1002 E. Avenue Q-12 – SAVES parking lot. Enter via 11th St. East to Avenue Q-12

There will be treats for youth under 18 years old and fun for the whole family. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Must be in line by 5 p.m.

Trunk or treat

The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station will host the Sixth Annual Trunk or Treat event and car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 31 at Poncitlan Square, 38315 9th St. E, Palmdale. There will be vendors, music, food, candy, a childrens costume contest and lots of trophies. To enter the car show, register on Eventbrite @ Palmdale Sheriff Station 6th Annual Trunk Or Treat And Car Show.

Haunted Hayride

The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride will return Sept. 24 to Griffith Park.

Due to the pandemic, the hayride was re-imagined last year as drive-up experience in San Dimas, but this year it will be back at its original location.

The 2021 hayride will have added tricks and treats

including all new mazes and scare zones.

Spook Show

In February 2020 Halloween Club in La Mirada, had announced Spook Show 8, the annual event, which brings together local vendors and Halloween and horror-loving enthusiast­s. The event, which is typically held in the spring had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reschedule­d 8th annual Spook Show Halloween festival will take from noon to 7 p.m., Sept. 25, at Halloween Club in La Mirada. As in years past, the event will bring together over 100 local vendors who offer up a macabre mix of wares including art, decor, jewelry and accessorie­s.

Spook Show 8 is a free, ticketed event. Tickets are available now through Eventbrite. Halloween Club is located at 14447 Firestone Blvd. in La Mirada.

Oogie Boogie Bash

The one and only Oogie Boogie — along with some of his fellow Disney Villains — is your host for the Oogie Boogie Bash. Guests are invited to wear costumes and experience Bash-exclusive entertainm­ent along with access to the park’s attraction­s and much more.

It’s an extra-ticket event held on select nights during Halloween time at Disneyland.

The Oogie Boogie Bash will be begin Sept. 9 and end on Oct. 31. Ticket prices start at $114, but will vary based on the dates.

Knott’s Scary Farm

Knott’s Scary Farm offers scares and thrills that can’t be found anywhere else.

The fully transforme­d theme park features haunted mazes and attraction­s, sinister shows and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park.

Knott’s Scary Farm is not recommende­d for children under 13. It runs on select dates from Sept. 16 to Oct. 31. Tickets start at $50.

Knott’s Spooky Farm

Enjoy the spooktacul­ar Halloween season at Knott’s Spooky Farm, an event full of Halloween activities for kids ages 3-11. Little ghouls can trick-or-treat through Ghost Town to collect sweet Halloween treats. Fun Halloween-themed shows are in store. Guests of all ages can learn about the creepy crawly critters occupying Ghost Town’s Livery Stable.

The Halloween Hootenanny returns as The Timber Mountain Log Ride transforms with spooky but family-friendly surprises. The fall daytime Seasons of Fun event is included with regular park admission or your Season Pass.

Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween Horror Nights is back with a vengeance at Universal Studios Hollywood. You’ll want to bring plenty of friends with you to share the screams and watch your back as you all make your way through terrifying mazes. Face nightmaris­h creatures in sinister scare zones.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain

Brave the heights of the sprawling roller coasters by day and the hordes of clowns, demons and ghouls by night. There are eight scare zones cover the length of the park.
