Friends of Lodi Public Library seek Trivia Bee contestants
If you enjoy answering questions while watching contestants on Jeopardy or playing Trivial Pursuit you might be the perfect person to join the Friends of the Lodi Public Library’s Trivia Bee team.
The Lodi Friends will be searching for three people to serve on the team to compete against others in the county by hosting an audition party on Wednesday, March 8 at 6 p.m. in the Library Community Room.
Questions will test your knowledge of pop culture, history, and politics among many other trivia topics.
The 2017 Trivia Bee, sponsored for the past 25 years by the Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin, will be held on Friday, May 12 at the Downtown Stockton Arena.
Contestants at the Stockton event are encouraged to wear their best 80s-era attire.
One of the organizers of Lodi’s audition party, Diane Freggiaro, experienced the Trivia Bee when she worked at the Stockton-San Joaquin Public Library and wanted to bring the fun and library and literacy fundraising activity to Lodi.
Teams commonly enter the competition from several service clubs, businesses and local colleges, she said. Winners battle to win a coveted Bobble Head Trophy
For this year’s event, Trivia Bee contestants will answer questions relating to the 1980s following a special dinner.
Even those who are not planning on joining the Trivia Bee are invited to test their wits at the audition party. Some refreshments as well as paper and pencils for answering questions will be provided.
“I hope everyone comes and enjoys the event and gets enthused about the Trivia Bee,” Freggiaro said.
In order to join the Lodi Friends Trivia Bee team, you must be a member of the Friends of the Lodi Public Library or join for as little as $10 a year.
For more information contact the Friends office, 333-6800 ext. 2711 to leave a message. Sign-ups to audition are required. To sign up, contact Diane Freggiaro at 209-931-9143. For information about the county-wide Trivia Bee visit https://llfsjc.org/trivia-bee/
