Richard Hoyt Mangrum died at age 61 on February 14, 2017 at St. Joseph’s medical center in Stockton, CA from pneumonia, after a long battle with emphysema.

Richard was born on November 1, 1955 in Hobbs, NM to his parents, Clifford and Mabel. He was the youngest of five boys and grew up in Lodi, CA. He graduated from Lodi High in 1973. In 1979, he married Carol Hatler and they had three children together, residing in Stockton, CA. He spent over 35 years in the automotive industry, retiring as Parts Manager for Geweke Ford in Lodi, CA.

Richard was best known for his infectious smile, corny jokes, and a deep compassion for others. His outgoing personalit­y caught him in conversati­ons with strangers about his life’s passions. These included fishing, motorcycle riding, watching sports, and most importantl­y, family. He was proudest of his family, which stands as a testament to his unconditio­nal love and dedication.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Kristina Jackson; his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Juliet Mangrum; his brothers, Telpher and Ralph Mangrum; and four grandchild­ren, Jayden, Isabel, Archer and Atlas. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie and Michael Mangrum; and his son, Stephen Mangrum.

Richard will be laid to rest on March 17th, 2017. Services will be held at 1 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home located at 725 S Fairmont Ave Lodi, CA and all are welcome to attend. There will be a memorial following the services.
