REV. LANSING WATERS

Rev. Lansing Stafford Waters, Age 68 of Stockton, California passed away on May 29th, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by family.

Lansing was born in Crosby, Minnesota to Cleo and Laura Waters March 6, 1949. Lansing graduated from Lodi High School and San Joaquin Delta College. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. He was employed by Pacific Coast Producers, Guntert and Zimmerman Steel Co., and the US Postal Service (32 years). Lansing was an officer at National Associatio­n of Letter Carriers (NALC) as well as PTA president at Cleveland School. He and his wife started the prayer ministry Come to the Waters. He was also a director for Victorious Ministry Through Christ (VMTC). For 9 years he pastored Paloma Community Church. During that time he facilitate­d the Valley Springs Ministers group for 8 years. He was an avid fan of the SF 49ers and the SF Giants. He enjoyed hiking and camping with his family and friends. He dearly loved his family and found great joy in attending his grandchild­ren’s school activities and sporting events. Throughout the years he gave many pints of blood and platelets to the Delta Blood Bank, and was a driver to surroundin­g areas. He was known for his humor.

Lansing is preceded in death by his parents Cleo & Laura Waters. Lansing is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Griselda, his son Michael (Lorie) Waters from Lafayette, LA and his daughter Sarah (Devon) Every from Mission Viejo, CA. He is survived by four grandchild­ren, Olivia Waters and Gabriella, Ethan, & Bristol Every. His older siblings Vernon Waters, Orin Waters, and Cheryl Anderson and their spouses and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

The memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Bethel Open Bible Church located at 760 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA. A reception will follow.
