PENNY SUE MATHIS GONZALEZ

On Friday June 2nd at approximat­ely 09:40 am Penny Sue Mathis Gonzalez ended her fight with a long term illness and passed away quietly in her Acampo home at the age of 57 years old.

Penny was born to Dorothy Vails and James Mathis in Tulare CA. She lived throughout the Central Valley where she met her husband Guadalupe Gonzalez and resided in Acampo, CA for 32 years. She worked for Woodworth Ranch, with her husband during most of this time. Later she worked for Holiday Inn in Galt, CA and moved to work at the Lodi, CA location for 10 years. She expressed love for everyone she has met during her time and wanted it to be known how much she loves her family and friends. Penny loved and enjoyed her life in the country and was always heard listening to her favorite classic country music. What she was most proud of in her life was being a loving wife and mother to her kids and grandkids.

Penny is survived by her husband Guadalupe Gonzalez, her sister Melody Zehner, her children Michael, Sissy, Danny, Manny, Ronnie, Gina, Vicky, John, Tony, and Lupe Jr (Pete). Also survived by 51 grandkids and great grandkids. Penny also had 3 pets she loved dearly who comforted her till the end. Her loving pets were Brandy, Manchas and Peanut.

Penny will join the following family members that preceded her ; mother Dorothy “Cookie” Vails Rosales, her close Aunt Betty Pierce, Mother-in-Law Dolores “Ama” Gonzalez, brother Lonnie Rosales, Grandaught­er Jocelyn Rosales, Daughterin-Law Andy Gonzalez

Penny wanted to thank everyone who could make it and all those who helped her along the way.

She had specific thanks she expressed to Dr. Morrison & her staff who she developed a friendship with through their care of Penny.

She also would like to thank Hospice and their staff for all their kindness and help in her last months with us.
