Mitch Walding
High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: Reading Fightin’ Phils (Phillies AA)
Walding, a third baseman, had two home runs in a game for the third time in the past two weeks, with two homers and four RBIs in Sunday’s 7-2 win over Hartford. He also had a single on Saturday, a triple on Thursday and a tworun home run on Wednesday.
Zach Phillips
High school: Galt Sport: Baseball Professional: Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals AAA)
Phillips, a left-handed reliever, took the loss on Saturday, giving up three runs on two hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning against Nashville.
Gio Brusa
High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: San Jose Giants (Giants AAdv.)
Brusa, an outfielder, had a two-run home run in Friday’s 4-3 loss to Visalia. He also had a single in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Visalia.
Kelsey Connolly
High school: Lodi Sport: Softball
College: Thomas University
Connolly, a junior catcher for the university in Georgia, was named to the NAIA AllAmerican team last week. Connolly batted .398 for the Night Hawks, with 51 hits, 53 RBIs, 11 doubles and nine home runs as TU finished third in the Sun Conference.
