ELBERT “BERT” STEELE PINKHAM JR.

Elbert “Bert” Steele Pinkham Jr., passed away on July 14, 2017 in Lodi, CA at the age of 84.

He was the husband of Janice Pinkham. Born on April 23, 1933 in French Camp, CA, he was the only son of Elbert Steele Pinkham Sr. and Rosamond Pinkham. As a youth, Elbert often visited the Pigeon Point Light House in Pescadero, CA where his grandparen­ts lived and operated the lighthouse. He attended Galt schools and was later employed by Lodi Ready Mix as a cement truck driver from which he retired in the spring of 1996. Elbert attended Temple Baptist Church in Lodi for many years where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Over the years, Elbert enjoyed many outdoor activities such as, coaching his sons, fishing and hunting, watching his grand/great grandchild­ren play sports and in the fall helping with the grape harvests. After retiring, he enjoyed woodworkin­g and had built many pieces of furniture for his family. He also enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers, Giants and Boston Celtics.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Pinkham, sons Randall (Deniese) Pinkham of Lodi, Russell (Margaret) Pinkham of Sebastopol, granddaugh­ters Shannon (Brett) Avery of Lodi, Katie (Michael) Thomas of Lodi, Alexandria Pinkham of Sebastopol, great grandchild­ren Landon and Jackson Thomas and Olivia and Annaleigh Avery.

In lieu of flower donations can be made to Temple Baptist Church in Lodi, CA. A private family service will be held.
