Democrats created the problem of nuclear North Korea and Iran
Editor: America is in danger and faces a real threat of a terrifying nuclear bomb. North Korea has the capability of firing an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) attached to a nuclear war head with the ability to hit the United States, due to an agreement in 1994. President Bill Clinton arranged $4 billion in energy aid to North Korea for a commitment from North Korea to freeze and dismantle their Nuclear Weapon Development Program.
Essentially, the U.S. gave money to North Korea on a promise with no verification. Clinton said in 1994, “This agreement is good for the United States, good for our allies, and good for the safety of the entire world.” Instead, North Korea pocketed billions of American tax dollars to expedite the same nuclear program they promised to dismantle.
Now President Trump has a dilemma to deal with. As time passes, North Korea continues to develop more long range capabilities. If Trump attacks North Korea to prevent an attack on America, he will be blamed for the risk of massive civilian lives lost in North Korea or potentially an attack on South Korea or Japan. Guam and Hawaii as well as targets along Washington, Oregon, and California are within reach of the nuclear ICBM. However, if Trump does not attack, North Korea’s technology will continue to provide them many more options as they gain advanced nuclear weapon technology, including a nuclear submarine capable of striking a number of targets.
The unfortunate deal by President Clinton with North Korea is now mirrored by the same deal President Obama made with Iran.
Robert Kauffman, professor of public policy at Pepperdine University stated, “(President) Obama’s feckless nuclear deal (with Iran) is the sequel.”
America and its citizens are in danger since President Clinton and Obama both allowed North Korea and Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Like North Korea is the threat of today, Iran will be the threat of tomorrow.
