Fast races at Jorgensen Memorial at Lodi Cycle Bowl

- Lodi 13, Tracy 5 Sacramento Tournament Liberty Ranch 250, Cordova 344 Hole-in-one

Tony Meiring of Tracy won the 45cc Open A at Saturday’s Toby Jorgensen Memorial at the Lodi Cycle Bowl, as well as the Dash for the Cash.

Behind him were three Lodi riders — Christian Spurgeon in second, Vaughn McCafferty in third and Shawn Raggio in fourth.

Local riders too the top four in the 250cc A race, with Justin Anselmi winning Dominic Dias in second and Kameron Broyles in third, along with Tyler Raggio in fourth. Anselmi also won the 250cc Heads Up, followed by Tyler Raggio in second and Broyles in third. Dias was third in 100cc Jr National, and Broyles was second in the 100cc National.

Other local riders who placed in the top three were Maverick Well of Lodi, who won the Class#4 PW 4-8 class, with Jayden Worth of San Andreas in second, Thomas Knight and Chris Sage of Stockton (second and third in Master A), Micheal Rankin of Acampo (first in Master C), Joseph Knight of Stockton (second in Vet A and first in Super Senior A), Weston Well (first in 100cc Youth Mod C), Kyle Raggio of Lockeford (first in 450cc Open B and second in 450cc Open Am), John Gaut of Stockton (third in 450cc Open B), Robert McCarty of Valley Springs (third in Super Senior A and second in Senior A), Chad Spurgeon of Lodi (second in 85cc Heads Up and second in 85cc A), Zayne Kannal of Valley Springs (second in 450cc Open C), William McDonnell of Lodi (third in Vintage A).

Thomas Knight was also first in the Senior A race.

WATER POLO

The Flames opened TCAL play with Thursday’s victory on the road and improved to 7-2 overall, with five goals from Nicole Coon and two from Elisa Grim. McKenzie Campbell, Stephanie Spears, kate Baltzer, Hope Lorentzen, Elizabeth Decko and Haley Weimer had once goal each, while Lorentzen had three saves and Kelsey Siria eight.

Lodi hosts Lincoln today at Tokay. Frosh-soph boys

Lodi placed second at the Sacramento Frosh/Soph Tournament this weekend at Jesuit High, falling 12-8 to Jesuit in the final. The Flames defeated Davis 8-4, Jesuit 13-5 and St. Mary’s 14-10 to advance to the championsh­ip.

Victor Plunkett, Braden Acosta and Eli Kim led the team in goals, steals and assists, respective­ly.

Jackie Schmidt led a solid victory with a 3under 33 on Thursday, followed by teammates Brittany Cooper at 46, Maddy Sieberling at 51, Johnna Wise at 53 and Ashlyn McCormick at 67.

Ron Kreutner of Morada had a hole-in-one on the fifth hole at Lockeford Springs GC during the best Ball for Babies charity tournament. He is the first golfer in 17 years to ace a prize hole at Lockeford Springs, and he took hom a bottle of wine, $100 cash and a set of clubs after nailing the 170-yard shot.
