Here are some of the interactiv­e art exhibits at the Sandhill Crane Festival:

Ongoing

• Origami Crane Folding at CottagePis­ano Foyer: Organized by the Central Valley Student Chapter of People to People Internatio­nal, which promotes friendship and understand­ing across national borders, guests of all ages can learn to fold origami cranes.

Nov. 4

• Painting Kindness Rocks in Upstairs Art Classroom: From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests of all ages can paint positive words and images on rocks before placing them in public areas for others to find.

Nov. 5

• Bird Carving Workshop for Beginners in Thomas Theatre: From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., master carvers from the Pacific Flyway Decoy Associatio­n will teach guests how to carve birds from wood. All materials will be provided, including carving knives and study guides. This class is intended for ages 14 and older, and advanced registrati­on is required and can be found online at www.cranefesti­val.com.
