Hawks rout Oakdale to remain perfect

The Liberty Ranch players scored in double digits as the Hawks’ boys basketball team cruised to an 80-43 victory over Oakdale on Friday to improve to 5-0.

Jalen Patterson led with 18 points, followed by Jaime Gonzalez with 11 and Chandler Garcia with 10. Liberty Ranch led 40-19 at halftime, and have hit 80 point in three straight games and four of their five so far.

Chris Fielding added eight points, and the Hawks got six each from P.J. Perez, Isaac Padilla and Nick Edwards.

Rogelio Herrera led the Tigers with 13 points in Friday’s loss in the Edison McDonald’s Classic, along with eight points from Mohammad Ibrahim, seven points and six rebounds from Max Starkovich, five each from Victor Nateras and Diego Ramirez, three from Chase Ivey and two from Anoop Singh.

Tokay (1-4) will play at 8:30 a.m. today at Edison.

Max Starkovich notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists in Thursday’s loss. Victor Nateras had 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, Chase Ivey had nine points and five rebounds, Rogelio Herrera had five points, Mohammad Ibrahim had three points and Diego Ramirez had a point and five rebounds.

Jaylin Reed led the Flames with 15 points in Friday’s loss, along with eight from Chase Shaftner, six from Derek Lamb, five from Marcel Roberts, four from Matt Nickel, three from Luis Perez and two from Justin Blake.

Isaac Bishop led the Flames with 21 points and 10 rebounds in Friday’s loss, along with nine points from Stephano Casciaro, eight from Frank Vega, seven each from Max Graves and Jason Berry, six from Gabe Biagioni and two from Vinny Montgomery.

The Flames’ frosh-soph team, filling in a spot in the varsity team’s tournament, fell in the consolatio­n bracket on Friday, and will play Turlock Christian today at 10 a.m.

Savannah Head led Lodi with 10 points, along with eight from Annette Vasquez, six each from McKenzy Perkins and Ashlee Toy, four from Ashley Vasquez and two each from Andi Stewart and Katrina Chang.

The Lodi Boosters of Boys/Girls Sports’ annual general meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the Kofu Park Meeting Room.

Alex Oseguera, Matt Phillips and Eddie Sandoval played well, but the Flames weren’t able to score the equalizer.

The Flames notched their first win of a young season that’s been riddled with illness and injury, with goals from Ashley Thorpe, Johana Schroeder and Katelyn Campbell. Reese O’Dell tallied five saves.
