Tokay wrestling takes down Wolf Pack
The Tokay High wrestling team picked up its third consecutive Tri-City Athletic League win on Wednesday, soundly defeating West 58-10.
Picking up wins for Tokay (3-0 in the TCAL) were Nick Nguyen (120 pounds) by forfeit, Seth Chaney (126) by pin over Boba Khat, Xavier Korcz (138) by pin over Miguel Huizar, Trenton Edalgo (145) by forfeit, Andrew Senner (152) by decision, Joseph Valdez by pin, and Carter Bozovich (170) Cameron Senner (182), Matt Cooper (195) and James McClain (285) by forfeits.
Junior varsity
Winning by forfeits for Tokay were Pedro Cahu (170), Robert Delatoore (195), Carlos Torres (220) and Dhruv Whalia. Moyses Luciano (182) won by pin.

GIRLS SOCCER
Haily Maldonado scored for Tokay in Wednesday’s loss, which saw five saves by goalkeeper Mia Misasi. Frosh-soph Crystal Varela blocked six shots, but the Tigers were shut out for the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Chloe Boron-Trotter scored 27 points and five steals for Tokay, in Tuesday’s Tri-City Athletic League contest. BoronTrotter made 10 of 11 shots from the free throw line.
Anessa Spradley had a double-double for the Tigers; 17 points and 12 rebounds. Teammates Abby Encisco and Destiny Lopez played hard on defense. Tracy’s Isabella Valdez had 28 points, and was 15 of 19 from the free throw line.
Ashley Kirbyson scored 10 points for Liberty Ranch in Wednesday’s Sierra Valley Conference contest. Tori Azvedo had six points and Olivia Nelson five. Kloey Calkins had seven of the Hawks’ 29 rebounds. Frosh-soph
Kendall Badano had six points and eight rebounds, and Simone Medeiros had six points and five steals in Tuesday’s loss. Mia Misasi added five points, Aniyah Dean had four points and 11 rebounds, Rose Stoops had four points and nine rebounds and Samantha Gonzalez had one point.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Entering the fourth quarter, Lodi trailed only 54-49 in Wednesday’s road game.
Guard Jaylin Reed had 19 points for the Flames. AJ Castaneto and Matt Nickel followed with 14 points. Nickel made four 3-pointers.
Victor Nateras led the Tigers with seven points in Wednesday’s loss, which saw Tracy jump out to a 45-18 halftime lead.
Chase Ivey added five points and three boards, Max Starkovich and Anoop Singh had four points each, Hamad Arif had three points and Caniel Penaflor and Jack Gobel had two points each. Tokay (3-16) plays at Lincoln on Friday.
Frosh-soph
Ryker Henne scored 16 points and Hamza El Kheidi added 15 in Wednesday’s victory. Cameron Taylor added eight points, Gurveer Badyal had two and Jorden Lawrence had one as the Tigers improved to 1-1 in TCAL play.
Nathan Shoup had 10 points to lead the Flames in Wednesday’s loss, along with five from Ben Graves, two each from Parker Alcoriza, Richie Bigler, Erville DelCruz, Jace Haro andDavid King, and one each from Logan Stout, Wyatt Johnson, Ethan Bronson and Trevor Jackson.
Freshmen
Isaac Bishop led the Flames with 19 points in Wednesday’s victory, along with five from Max Graves, four each from Jason Berry and Hayden Hildenbrand, three from Stephano Casciaro and two from Gabe Biagioni.
