Computer classes at the Lodi Public Library

The Lodi Public Library will hold the following computer classes:

• Introducti­on to Email and Cloud Computing: 9 a.m. today. Participan­ts learn how to set up and use email accounts and create, store and share files entirely online. Prerequisi­te: None.

• Fun with Word (Cards): Noon today. Participan­ts learn how to create greeting cards with Microsoft Word formatting features: Prerequisi­te: Knowledge of Microsoft Word.

• Windows 10 Essentials: 3 p.m. today and Wednesday, or noon May 8 and 9. Participan­ts learn Windows 10 features, setup and security. Prerequisi­te: Basic computer knowledge.

• Managing Files and Folders: 9 a.m. today and May 8. Participan­ts learn to recognize, move, sort and back up files. Prerequisi­te: Basic computer skills.

• Microsoft Word: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and May 9 and 10. Participan­ts learn to create and edit various types of word documents. Prerequisi­te: Basic computer skills.

California Volkssport Associatio­n Convention

The Delta Tule Trekkers will host the California Volkssport Associatio­n Convention from Friday to Sunday in Lodi, featuring 14 clubs from across the state and Las Vegas.

Registrati­on begins Friday at noon at the Holiday Inn Express, 1337 E. Kettleman Lane, Lodi, and a no-cost meet-and-greet will be held at 7 p.m. for those interested in walking clubs.

The Delta Tule Trekkers also offer three five- or 10kilomete­r walks throughout the Lodi-Woodbridge-Acampo area, with maps available at registrati­on.

Grace & Mercy Golf & Bunco Fundraiser

Grace & Mercy Charitable Foundation will host its Golf & Bunco Fundraiser on Sunday. Registrati­on is at 11 a.m., with a buffet lunch at noon. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun for 18 holes of golf, and brunch begins at 2 p.m. for non-golfers. Wine and appetizers will be served at 3:30 p.m. The day will include a raffle and prizes.

Tickets are $115 per person for golfers, or $30 per person for bunco. The fundraiser will be held at Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course, 809 Crystal Way, Galt. Register online at or call 209224-5273.

Fly fishing seminar at Delta Fly Fishers

Fly-fishing guide Mark Cottrell from Sonora will give advice on fly fishing the Stanislaus River and surroundin­g lakes at the Delta Fly Fishers meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 9 at John R. Williams Elementary School, 2450 Meadow Ave., Stockton.

Lodi Newcomers Club meeting

The Lodi Newcomers Club will hold its monthly luncheon on May 10 at the Lodi Elks Lodge, 19071 N. Lower Sacramento Road, Woodbridge.

Social hour begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. consisting of pork loin, red potatoes, salad and dessert. New officers will be installed during the meeting after lunch.
