United Congregational Christian Church will collect coins to be donated to the Salvation Army at the end of the year, and collection boxes with name tags are available at the table in the church’s lobby.
The church will also work with Church World Service to collect and assemble hygiene kits containing a widetooth comb, finger or toe nail clipper, bath-sized bar of soap in a wrapper, toothbrush in a package and 10 adhesive bandages. Kits will be assembled Sept. 30 and donated to those in need both in Lodi and around the world.

The Home Church
The Home Church will host “Life Principles in Acts,” at 6 p.m. Sundays, a Bible study focusing on integrating teachings from the Bible into everyday life. Childcare will be provided.
The church will also host an outdoor concert by gospel band The Shaw Family at 7 p.m. Aug. 10.

First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church offers two senior exercise programs, open to the public, in its fellowship hall.
Energizers, a low-impact aerobic class for active seniors, meets from 9 to 10 a.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with fees of $6 per class or $36 per month.
Pacesetters, an exercise program for seniors who wish to remain seated or standing and exercise at a slower pace, meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:15 to 11 a.m., with fees of $4 per class or $30 per month.
The church also offers two free book clubs, with the afternoon group meeting at 1 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month in the church library and the evening group meeting the last Monday of each month at an off-site location.
The church is now accepting enrollment for its preschool for children ages 2 to 4 for the 2018-19 school year.
Classes run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday beginning Sept. 1.
