In the early hours of August 14, 2018, Willie Flanery, age 70, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Willie was born the youngest child to Charley and Josie (McGuire) Flanery in a log cabin outside Kellyville, Oklahoma. His family moved to California when he was one year old.

Willie loved his family, his church family at St. Paul Lutheran Church, his friends, road trips, naps, card and board games, photograph­y, television documentar­ies, fishing with his best buddy Dennis, woodworkin­g, and being a Lodi High Band Dad from 1991 – 1998.

Willie is survived by his wife Janyce (Jan) of 43 years, his daughters Angela and Dawn, his brother Sam and wife Helen Flanery, his sister-in-law Judy Flanery, his brother-in-law Charles and wife Mary Sjoquist, his brother-in-law Owen Sjoquist, his sister-in-law LuAnn Amberson plus many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Charles.

A Celebratio­n of Life Memorial Service is planned for Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 South Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, CA with a luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 701 South Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240; to Optimal Hospice Foundation, 3461 Brookside Road #A-2, Stockton, CA 95219; or to the charity of your choosing.
