LILLIAN DODDINGTON

Lillian Ann Doddington, 92 years old, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her Lodi country home where she lived for 60 years. She shared a loving relationship with her husband Les Doddington for thirty-five years who preceded her in death. She was a beloved mother and devoted to her 5 children, Wayne Diede (Verna), Marcia Lee (Bob), Steven Diede (Bo), Margo Cook (Mark) and Bruce Diede (Tammy). She was a cherished grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren, Jake, Jessica, Rachel, Kathryn, Michael, Kari, Brett, Cody, Troy, Alex, Dea, Nicole, Adam and Brandon and a doting great grandmother to thirteen great grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sibling (only surviving sister, Luella McTiernan) and aunt.

Lillian loved her home! She was a hard-working woman who helped to successfully manage the ranch. She was an exemplary homemaker. Anyone who entered her home felt welcomed, comfortable and were included like one of the family. As an outstanding cook she spoiled her family and friends with her homemade cinnamon rolls, German cheese-buttons, strudel and Greek culinary delicacy’s like baklava that she mastered from her friend and neighbor Mrs. Lewis. Holidays were huge family events at Grandma’s house and left us with cherished memories.

Lillian was a committed, loving, generous, fiercely protective mother whose hope was to raise her children to value family above all else. She was happiest when holding a grandchild or great grandchild in her arms. The family will always cherish the memory of her warmth, her smile and the love she gave so freely.
