Giants fine Beckham Jr. for ESPN comments
NEW YORK — Pat Shurmur and the New York Giants fined wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for his controversial comments in last week’s explosive ESPN interview, according to a league source.
That’s on top of Shurmur ripping Beckham Oct. 5 when the first excerpts of Beckham’s interview were released questioning his teammates’ heart and Eli Manning’s ability. And the coach also had Beckham apologize to the team on Oct. 6.
FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported Beckham’s fine on Thursday night.
Publicly last Friday, Shurmur was careful to barely reveal any of his real feelings on the matter, but after Sunday’s loss in Carolina he was clearly furious both with Beckham and the fact that the new of his reprimand of Beckham got out.
